A strong track record of annual gifts to the Cal Poly Fund by alumni, faculty and staff also plays a role in Cal Poly’s academic rankings and the university's ability to earn funding from many foundations.
Funding the University
The Cal Poly Fund provides an opportunity for donors to make a gift that Cal Poly will channel to its most pressing needs, or a gift targeted directly to one of Cal Poly’s six colleges, or one of Cal Poly's specific university programs and projects.

Phone-a-Thon
For decades, Cal Poly students working for the Cal Poly Fund Phone-a-Thon have contacted alumni, parents and friends via telephone seeking annual donations by phone. Cal Poly's college deans and department heads also send letters to alumni and parents every year seeking donations by mail.
