Welcome Cal Poly Parents!

Parents for Philanthropy is dedicated to enriching the student experience by providing and encouraging private support to Cal Poly.  By giving to the Parent Fund and volunteering their time and talent, parents make a significant impact on students’ education.

Thanks to our generous parents, did you know that…

  • In 2008, Cal Poly raised approximately $33 million in private support.  Of that, parents alone gave 8,600 gifts totaling over $1.3 million…$757,000 to the Parents Fund and $613,000 to the colleges, scholarships and programs.
  • Cal Poly parents have the highest giving level of all the CSUs.
  • Over $2.8 million in scholarships was awarded to 1,500 students in 2008

This year’s goal is to raise $790,000 for the Parent Fund, an increase of six percent over last year’s total of $757,000.  To see additional past totals of Parent Fund giving, please click here.

Approximately ten percent of Cal Poly’s budget comes from private support – thus Cal Poly relies on private gifts from supportive parents such as you to maintain the quality of education that enables its students to succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace. The Parent Fund provides unrestricted dollars to help Cal Poly reach greater levels of excellence.

As a parent, there are many ways to volunteer and become involved with Cal Poly.
