The University Scholarship Program supports California Polytechnic State University’s mission to discover, integrate, articulate, and apply knowledge. The objective of the program is to attract and retain the most promising students - some of whom may not otherwise be able to pursue a university degree without financial assistance.
Scholarships not only provide financial support for our students education, they are an investment in our students' future. Your contribution today will benefit students' for many years to come.
Why is There a Need?
The cost to attend a four-year college and competition for top students have increased dramatically. To remain competitive with other top universities, Cal Poly is committed to developing scholarships, internships and merit awards that support and honor the best and the brightest students.
Financial Assistance Offered at Cal Poly:
Forty-six percent of Cal Poly students receive some form of financial aid. A typical financial aid package consists of a student grant, a student loan, work-study, and/or income from a part-time job as well as an expected family contribution.
Students who receive some form of financial aid graduate with an average loan debt of more than $16,000. Financial assistance is a resource designed to supplement the cost of education, and is not intended to be used as a students' sole means of funding. The types and amounts of aid Cal Poly awards or recommends are subject to availability of funds, enrollment status, and financial need.
