The Cal Poly Scholars program provides financial assistance and access to Cal Poly’s unique Learn by Doing education for high-achieving students from California schools who have earned acceptance into our university.
The program provides an annual scholarship, two-year living-learning community, dedicated workshops and advising to support student development, retention, and access to essential technology. By reducing financial barriers and creating an environment where students can thrive academically, Cal Poly Scholars strengthens both individual success and the richness of Cal Poly’s community through the diverse backgrounds and experiences of its scholars.
Each year, the Cal Poly Scholars program continues to grow and succeed, with nearly 1,300 degrees awarded to graduates to date and 2,877 Scholars enrolled as of fall 2024. In spring 2024, 91% of Scholars agreed or strongly agreed that “the Cal Poly Scholars community cares about my success.” In fall 2023, 86% of new Scholars said financial support was one of their top reasons for choosing Cal Poly.
