In 2024, the College of Liberal Arts doubled the amount raised during Poly Gives in 2023. This year, the college is offering four exciting matching challenges designed to inspire donors, allowing them to make an even greater impact with their gifts—every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar! Learn more about each challenge:
CLA Match: DEAN'S ADVISORY BOARD CHALLENGE - $7,500 Match
The committed alumni and volunteers of the Dean's Advisory Council (DAC) have put their resources together to match gifts to the Dean's Excellence Fund, up to $7,500! The DAC, whose purpose is to support the dean's vision for college-level initiatives, hopes that by coming together to raise funds for student success, they can also promote giving back in other ways.
Join the team - Laura Diaz (English, '80), Sarah Khan (English, '98), Samantha Schneider (Speech Communication, '98), Christopher Trapani (Political Science, '90), and interim dean Kate Murphy in supporting the College of Liberal Arts!
Schneider is excited about this matching gift, and hopes it inspires other CLA supporters to lend a hand this Poly Gives. "It's been an honor to be on the DAC and to give back to make sure others have a great college experience and are provided options for their education," she said. "We hope that it gives other alumni and the broader Cal Poly community a chance to see how their donations make a direct impact on the lives of students, including the opportunity to travel abroad, to join a club, and to be a well-rounded student."
POLITICAL SCIENCE Department- $5,000 Match
The members of the Political Science Alumni Advisory Board are celebrating Poly Gives by contributing a total of $5,000 in matching gift funds to the Political Science department. The alumni board works with the department on such issues as student excellence and faculty professional development.
